Having trouble connecting or using Instagram with Socialbud? This guide walks you through common issues and their solutions. We will try to help with any social network questions or issues you have, but sometimes the only solution is to directly contact the social networks. For example, if you have trouble logging into Instagram, only Instagram customer support would be able to assist.
Linking Instagram to Socialbud
To ensure a successful connection, follow these prerequisites:
Account Type: Only Business or Creator Profiles can be linked. Personal Instagram accounts are not eligible for automated posting.
Facebook Page Requirement: Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Business Page.
New Accounts: If your Instagram account is new, wait at least 7 days before attempting to link.
Switching Account Profiles
Switching your Instagram account type can affect its connection:
If you switch to a Personal Profile:
The connection between your Instagram account and its linked Facebook Page will be lost.
To resolve, re-link your Instagram account to the Facebook Business Page.
Ensure your Instagram account is a Business or Creator Profile:
Open the Instagram app.
Navigate to Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account (if needed).
Permissions and Pop-Ups
Grant Permissions: During the linking process, ensure all requested permissions are granted. Limiting permissions may cause errors.
Allow Pop-Ups: Enable pop-ups in your browser to complete the authorization process.
Reauthorizing access
If errors occur during authorization:
Log out and log back into your Facebook account in a new browser tab.
Refresh Socialbud.
Retry linking your Instagram account.
Troubleshooting missing pages
If your Instagram account isn’t appearing during the linking process:
Verify that the linked Facebook Page is a Business Page.
Confirm you have admin access to the Facebook Page.
Note: Admin roles inherited from parent pages cannot establish links.
Review and update Facebook permissions to ensure full access is granted.
Resetting Instagram permissions
If issues persist:
Reset permissions for Instagram and Facebook in your Socialbud account settings.
Confirm that all account settings comply with Instagram’s and Facebook’s requirements.
Retry linking your Instagram account through Socialbud.
